Isn't she beautiful?
I pass this amazing truck every couple of days and I drool over it every dang time. One day I just had to pull over, get out and snap a few pictures. I love the shape, the color, the era appropriate trunk in the back...I love it all!
The truck...I've nicknamed her Ethel...is a Studebaker which is a blast from the past kind of name for me. When I was a little whippersnapper my mother drove a Studebaker. I don't actually remember the car, I was too young, but I remember hearing my parents talk about it and I always thought the name was funny.
Ethel makes me smile. Sometimes I have to take a different route into town, because of the eternal construction going on around town, and I feel a pang when I realize that I missed out on a chance to hang with Ethel. She's one of the things I love.
When Jamie was a baby, we lived in a town that had no mail delivery. I suppose you could have a PO box if you wanted, but our mail was addressed to us at General Delivery and you would have to go to the window and ask for it. I loved walking to the post office every couple of days to get our mail. I never passed a beautiful truck like that though. So cool!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, Ethel is beautiful! I love that color. How interesting that you have no mail delivery. I know there's a condo complex is FL where the mail delivery ended because the mail carrier felt it was too much of a hassle getting to everyone's mailbox...weird!
ReplyDeleteI just commented on your previous post and forgot to add that I think your living room is gorgeous!!! Your wicker furniture is so beautiful and I love the little rug under the table:) So cozy and inviting.
I knew Mother had a Studebaker in Oregon but I didn't realize she had one in IL. She loved that car.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if it's the same one that I (kind of) remember? It's whatever she drove before she got the Mustang.
DeleteOh, yes, Ethel is a head-turner for sure! She's beautiful! Oh, the things she's seen and the stories she could tell. Don't you wish those wheels could talk?!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
